Chandra recently visited the studio in Loveland, Colorado and was impressed by the facility. It boasts an ICON D-Control integrated console environment, flexible live room configurations, an impressive and extensive vintage gear list, and a fabulous SkyLoft apartment for bands to chill and create together. All this combined with extremely competitive rates, an excellent technical team, and a creative environment make Backbone Studio a desirable place to record, mix and master fantastic records.

Glow Attends SF Music Tech Summit

We had a fantastic time at the SF Music Tech Summit yesterday! They had some great panels including The Future of the Music Industry with Terry McBride of Nettwerk and friend Anthony Randall of TourPro; Monetization; Brands & Bands: The Evolution of Music Branding; Webcasting; Social Networking; Recording; Mobile Apps; and more.
Some Notes ...
-Fans accept paying for concerts so that money is a base to build on with merchandising, publishing, licensing, etc.
-The digital domain levels the playing field for all bands to promote themselves.
-Digital distribution flattens the world. Something released online is instantly global.
-A larger middle class of artists is emerging as a result of the digital domain, including digital distribution and the social web.
-Lots of new technology companies are emerging to address the needs for artists to generate revenue.
-As bands take responsibility for their own marketing, there is a greater opportunity for marketing and promotions people to help bands shine.
